What diaphragm material should I choose?

Diaphragm material selection is critical for chemical compatibility and service life:

  • EPDM: Good for water-based fluids, dilute acids, and bases. Not recommended for oils or hydrocarbons.
  • Viton® (FKM): Excellent resistance to oils, fuels, aromatic solvents, and many chemicals.
  • PTFE (Teflon®): Superior chemical resistance across a wide range of aggressive acids, bases, and solvents. Ideal for highly corrosive applications.
  • Santoprene®: Good all-around option for water, mild chemicals, and where a longer flex life is required.
  • Neoprene: Suitable for oils, refrigerants, and moderate chemical exposure.

What wetted materials are available for pump housings?

  • Polypropylene (PP): Lightweight, cost-effective, resistant to many acids and bases.
